The “Hopkins Hogg”

The Hopkins Hogg is a stainless steel muffler built totally by hand here in beautiful

Covington, Louisiana, USA, at Hopkins Propeller Service L.L.C.

The idea to produce an extreme use, extra-long life muffler was born out of a need seized upon by Glen Hopkins, (who designed the mud-boat props most of you are running). When a customer picking up props for his Pro-drive boats, complained of the muffler rust-out problems being experienced by sportsmen. The “Hogg” is made to take the place of factory mufflers which come on air cooled engines used for Mud Boat, Shallow Water, & Back Water motors and are made of plain steel and thus rust easily. Our mufflers are made with 304 exhaust grade stainless, and are solid welded.

It is built by Jay King who after extensively researching, and studying the latest in high performance - tuned exhaust systems came up with a cyclonic baffle to take the place of headers. Designing , building, & testing was done from October of 2006 thru March of 2007, and as is true with all of our products, is ongoing. Our testing has shown an increase in performance.

Q~ Will this muffler increase any of my boat’s performance?

A~ Yes increases in speed, RPM, and load carrying capabilities have been seen. This depends on the Rig used, and the load being carried.

Q~ How long will it take to receive a muffler from the time it is ordered to shipping?

A~ Since each muffler is built to order, it can take anywhere from five to fourteen business days, depending on how busy our shop is and availability of materials.

Q~ Can the Hogg be applied to any boat motor?

A~ At this time the Hogg is available for vertical and horizontal motors ( Pro-Drive, Mud Buddy HyperDrive, Go-Devil, Gator-Tail, and others using the 32hp-36hp Briggs ). 18 hp Thru 23 Biggs vertical and horizontal motors , 25- 27 vertical and horizontal motors, 29 Kawasiki vertical and horizontal motors. We are currently working on other sizes for several different motors, when they are available the Information will be posted on our web site.

Q~ Is there a warranty?

A~ We stand behind our product and craftsmanship, and are responsible for defects in our workmanship only. There are some factors over which we have no control, and these must be considered when evaluating any problems. If problems arise, we will happily work with you to solve them.

A~ The muffler costs $430.00 - $450.00 plus shipping US Dollars.
